Private Residence

While interning at COOKFOX Architects, I worked on the design development of a private residence in Long Island.

As part of the design team, I was tasked with producing the content for monthly client meetings and engaging in iterative design exercises for different parts of the house. I managed the 3D model and was responsible for producing interior and exterior renderings. In addition, I updated elevations and plans as necessary and worked on rendered elevations for a height variance.

The focus of my time on the project was on the design of the pool house, facades, and entrance of the house. I played a major role in the design of both the entrance and pool house. To see my ideas implemented in the final design was an extremely fulfilling experience. On the next few pages, I have included plans, elevations, and renderings that sum up my experience at COOKFOX architects.

Although I mainly worked on one house for the client, the project actually consisted of two adjacent houses that the client was developing. In addition to working on the main house, I also produced rendered elevations for a height variance hearing for the second house. The hope was that these drawings would convince the neighborhood to allow us to exceed the height limit set

for the area. It was very interesting to experience a side of architecture I had never thought of before. There is a legal aspect to designing buildings that does not occur to you as a student and it was great to get a glimpse of it in the professional scene.
